The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

MLB NEWS AND NOTES
San Francisco Giants At Philadelphia Philles MLB Betting Preview
By: Jeff Grant

San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies (-115, 7)

The San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies will meet up for the first time since facing each other in last year’s National League Championship Series. The first pitch of the three-game series is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. (PST) Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

San Francisco moved past Philadelphia in six games last year before downing the Texas Rangers to win the World Series. Many experts believe that the Senior Circuit race is setting up for another showdown between these teams in October.

The Giants will briefly be reminded of last year’s accomplishments, visiting the White House on Monday and meeting president Barack Obama. The club has played well following an off day in the past, posting a 15-7 record in the last 22 opportunities.

Starting pitcher Tim Lincecum (8-8, 2.90 ERA) has thrown the ball incredibly well over his last three outings, picking up victories in two of those contests. He has allowed three runs and 12 hits over his last 19 innings over that span. The former Cy Young Award winner comes in with a respectable 5-4 mark and 2.44 ERA in 11 road starts, as opponents are hitting just .225 against him.

Lincecum will be facing the Phillies for the eighth time during the regular season, posting a 2-1 record and 3.17 ERA, issuing just 12 walks and registering 54 strikeouts in 48 1/3 frames.

If Lincecum is unable to go the distance, San Francisco’s bullpen is certainly capable in filling the void, entering the series with a 0.28 ERA since the All-Star break.

Philadelphia will not have the luxury of a day off before the series, playing the final game of a series against San Diego Monday. The Phillies have been dominating opponents at home in leading the majors in wins at Citizens Bank Park.

Manager Charlie Manuel also has a great ability in getting his team to focus down the stretch, notching a 187-113 record after the break since 2005.

Vance Worley (6-1, 2.02 ERA) has stepped into his starting role in a major way, picking up four consecutive victories, with the club outscoring opponents 19-4 over that span. He has not surrendered a home run in that span, holding opponents to just 15 hits in 27 1/3 innings.

The rookie right-hander has been even more impressive in front of the home faithful, coming in with a perfect 3-0 record and 1.50 ERA, as opponents are hitting a meager .171 against him.

It’s not surprising that the ‘under’ is 5-1 in Worley’s last six starts, but total players will also notice that the ‘over’ is 7-2 in Lincecum’s last nine starts versus the Phillies.

Weather forecasts suggest a perfect night for baseball, with sunny skies and a game-time temperature in the low-80s. The wind will be out of the west at 5-10 mph (out to right).

Tuesday's Streaking and Slumping Starting Pitchers

STREAKING

Jered Weaver, Los Angeles Angels (13-4, 1.81 ERA)

It was just another day at the office for Weaver in his last trip to the hill as he chucked seven shutout innings in a 1-0 win over the mighty Texas Rangers. The 6-foot-7 ace struck out six while walking a pair of batters.

Weaver hasn’t been tagged with loss since May 18 and the Angels are 6-1 in his last seven starts.

Vance Worley, Philadelphia Phillies (6-1, 2.02 ERA)

Worley just threw a career-high eighth innings in a 9-1 blowout of the Chicago Cubs last week and is now 4-0 with a 0.94 ERA in his last six starts.
He fired 122 pitches in the win, which was the sixth time he topped the 120-pitch mark.

“We felt like getting him up in his pitch count on a day like today, that definitely ought to help him,” manager Charlie Manuel said. “We’ll see how he reacts the next time out.”

SLUMPING

Jhoulys Chacin, Colorado Rockies (8-7, 3.60 ERA)

Chacin’s slide continues as the team has lost each of his last five outings.

He gave up five runs over 4 2/3 innings in a 9-6 loss to the Atlanta and struggled with his control from the first batter he faced. Chacin ended up walking seven batters and serving up a couple of dingers.

That was the worst start I've had throughout my career," Chacin said. "I couldn't throw anything over the plate. I have to work and find what I need to do to keep the ball over the plate."

Jordan Zimmerman, Washington Nationals (6-8, 3.00 ERA)

Zimmerman hasn’t allowed a run in three of his last five outings, but everything went wrong in his last start when he gave up six earned runs over five innings against the Houston Astros.

The six runs were the most he’d allowed all season.

“I just didn’t have a good feel for much of anything,” Zimmermann told reporters. “My slider was pretty terrible tonight and I had a rough time locating the fastball. When you have nights like that, you’re going to get hit around.”

HOT LINES

Tuesday's Best MLB Bets

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres (-110, 7)

San Diego supporters got a nice boost to their bankroll when the Padres upset the Phillies 5-4 on Monday as big +225 underdogs.

Chris Denorfia stole home and added an RBI single while Chase Headley added three hits to help the Padres avoid a series sweep. San Diego banged out 11 hits against Cliff Lee and company.

"We came out swinging. We knew we had a challenge with one of the best pitchers in the game. We did some nice things; we got some big hits ... ran the bases aggressively," said Padres manager Bud Black. "We tried to keep Lee from settling in."

San Diego returns home after going 4-3 on its road trip, but home hasn’t been kind to the team this season. While the Padres are 11-2 in their last 13 home games against Arizona, they’re also just 20-30 on home turf this season.

We’ll jump on the D-Backs here.

PICK: Arizona

Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee Brewers (-135, 8.5)

It may have taken a while, but the Chicago Cubs finally managed to win three straight games this season by sweeping the lowly Houston Astros over the weekend.

Now the Cubs head out on a 10-game road trip against division rivals Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh. Chicago is well out of the pennant race again this year and you’re starting to hear some loveable loser talk already.

"We're not where we want to be, but we're going to make it difficult on (other teams) all year long," center fielder Marlon Byrd said. "Playing tough teams in the division, we owe it to the rest of the division to battle."

Not to mention the club’s supporters.

The Cubs might be a terrible team to watch these days but Ryan Dempster could help push their winning streak to four games on Tuesday. Chicago has won seven of its last eight games against Milwaukee with Dempster on the bump.

WNBA NEW AND NOTES
Silver Stars - Mystics Preview
By Associated Press

San Antonio Silver Stars at Washington Mystics (6.5, 155)

Despite being near the top of the Western Conference going into the All-Star break, the San Antonio Silver Stars stumbled in their last six games after a hot start.

The Silver Stars look to start regaining their early season form Tuesday night when they visit the Washington Mystics, one of the WNBA's worst home teams.

San Antonio (9-5) dropped four of six going into the break as it was unable to maintain the pace it set in its first eight games. The Silver Stars averaged 92.1 points during their 7-1 start, but scored 70.8 per game in the last six.

Their latest contest was particularly alarming, as they fell 73-55 to Seattle on Thursday. San Antonio posted its lowest point total of the season in suffering its most lopsided loss of the year.

''This is one of the most physical teams in the league, if not the most physical, and we just didn't handle it very well,'' guard Becky Hammon said. ''It was one of those nights where everything went wrong. They came out with a purpose and really focused and put it on us.''

With a roster that was revamped in the offseason, the Silver Stars' fast start may have unrealistically raised expectations.

"When you consider we have six out of 11 as new players and three rookies, we're probably in a position that maybe we'd hoped that we'd be (at the break)," coach Dan Hughes said.

One of those players is rookie forward Danielle Adams, who along with Hammon represented San Antonio as All-Stars. Adams is averaging 14.6 points and 4.7 rebounds, but she totaled eight points in the last two games.

Washington's All-Star forward fared much better going into the break. Crystal Langhorne had 24 points and five assists in each of her last two contests and totaled 24 boards in that span.

Her outstanding performance Wednesday wasn't enough to keep the Mystics (3-11) from losing for the third time in four games, 86-79 to Atlanta. Langhorne also had three steals versus the Dream and ranks among the league leaders with 18.4 points a game.

Washington has lost five of its last six contests decided by single digits.

"They have a huge heart,'' coach Trudi Lacey said. ''They play so hard. They're disappointed, but like I told them, the mental mistakes just have to stop in order for us to win these close games."

The Mystics are 1-5 at home, with the only victory coming against league-worst Tulsa. The Silver Stars have won four straight in Washington, taking last year's meeting at the Verizon Center by a 79-75 score July 29.

The Mystics won the second matchup 76-66 on Aug. 17.

LADY LUCK

Tuesday's Best WNBA Bets

San Antonio Silver Stars at Washington Mystics (6.5, 155)

So who exactly are these San Antonio Silver Stars anyway? Are they the club that got off to a terrific start to the season to pad their supporters’ pockets or are they the team that stumbled heading into the All-Star game? Probably somewhere in between.

San Antonio has a long way to go to find its identity.

"When you consider we have six out of 11 as new players and three rookies, we're probably in a position that maybe we'd hoped that we'd be (at the break)," coach Dan Hughes said of his overhauled roster.

San Antonio should get back on track to begin the second half of the season with a road victory Tuesday.

The Mystics are in over their heads in this matchup and are only 1-7 against the spread in their last eight home games.

PICK: San Antonio

Connecticut Sun at Chicago Sky (-3, 150.5)

A blowout loss to the Indiana Fever wasn’t the way Chicago Sky coach Pokey Chatman wasn’t the way she wanted her team to head into the break – and she wasn’t shy about sharing her thoughts either.

''We're at the turning point where we need to grow up, step up and recognize opportunities.” Chatman told reporters. "It's mental to physical. We played like a young team (Thursday).''

That won’t happen in this spot. The league’s leading scorer, Sylvia Fowles, always plays Connecticut tough. She scored the game-winning bucket in overtime the last time these two clubs hooked up and has scored at least 20 points in each of her last four games.

With seven of the last 10 meetings between the two teams playing over the total, we see this one turning into another shootout.

Tuesday’s Betting Tips: Yanks Huge Faves vs. Sinking M’s

Who's Hot

MLB: Cleveland has won 13 of Josh Tomlin’s last 16 home starts.

MLB: Boston has won 23 of its last 31 home games.

WNBA: Atlanta has covered 10 of its last 14 games at home.

Who’s Not

MLB: The Seattle Mariners had lost 15 straight games heading into Sunday’s action, the longest slump in the club’s 35-year history. They’re set as huge +285 underdogs in New York against the Yankees.

MLB: Texas is 1-7 in its last eight meetings with Minnesota.

WNBA: Washington has covered the spread in only four of their last 16 games overall.

Key Stat

2.44 – The San Diego Padres are giving Dustin Moseley just 2.44 runs of support this season, leaving the righty with a 3-9 record. The Padres are just 5-14 in Moseley’s starts putting his supporters down 8.04 units on the year.

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Lance Berkman, St. Louis Cardinals – Berkman sat out Monday’s game with a strained rotator cuff and is considered questionable for Tuesday’s game against Houston. The right fielder leads St. Louis with 27 home runs.

Game Of The Day

San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies (-110, 9)

Notable Quotable

"We've had a rough start, but we like our chances going into August. We're definitely not down. If anything, we're looking at the upside. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised in the second half of the season how much better basketball we're going to play." – Swim Cash on her Seattle Storm heading into Tuesday’s road date in Phoenix. The Storm are currently set as 7-point underdogs.

Tips And Notes

The Baltimore Orioles expect to have Vladimir Guerrero back in the lineup Tuesday after he successfully completed a rehab stint in the minors. Guerrero suffered a fracture in his right hand earlier this month and was hitting .279 with seven homers and 31 RBIs before landing on the shelf.

According to a New York Post report, the Philadelphia Phillies are actively looking for bullpen help ahead of the trade deadline and are “aggressively” pursuing San Diego Padres relievers Heath Bell and Mike Adams. Philadelphia ranks 13th in the bigs with a 3.42 bullpen ERA.

Hondo

Mr. Aitch would like to extend heartfelt apologies to the Reverse Hondo Brigade, which suffered a very painful double-flusher yesterday due to his success with the Padres and Pirates, a couple of heavy 'dogs. Tonight, with the negative numeral all the way down to 1,425 monteleones, Mr. Aitch will give the nod to The Good Weaver -- 10 units on the Angels over the Tribe. Also, he'll try a 10-unit plunge on The American Idle to menace Mr. Wilson and the Rangers.
